Remember, Remember to Plan for September

Remember, Remember to Plan for September

Remember, remember - plan for September (and do it right now if you’re in the hospitality trade)

The sun is out and the schools will be out shortly. Areas within the hospitality industry may already be booming, or be on the brink of a bouncing July and August, but the rug could be pulled if you don’t immediately put in place urgent plans for the months that follow.

There’s also the not-so-small matter of VAT cuts for hospitality firms ending come September 30th. There really is huge pressure now on businesses to make hay while the sun shines this summer, but planning for the period beyond will mitigate the risk of a bleak winter.

September 2021 will be a tipping point for hospitality

Leisure travel is dominating the bounceback for the hotel trade and those who serve food, drink and other goods for tourists. Many people abandoned plans for a holiday abroad some months ago and have opted to take a staycation.

The big question, and one which has most of us holding our breath, is what will happen when the schools go back in September and the majority of companies have finally recalled their staff when furlough schemes end at the end of that month?

Looking ahead to corporate booking trends for late 2021 and 2022

The staycation boom may have been wonderful news for many in the tourist hotspots of the UK, but for others, it may be a little while longer until they see pent up demand for corporate travel, hospitality and events to surge.

If you’re in the corporate hospitality trade, this summer is the time to get out there yourself and reconnect with your customers, contacts and the very people who make business bookings. Remember, if they’re still in employment, almost everyone will be back at work from September onwards, and they’ll have a diary full of contacts they will need to get going and see.
