Recruitment success for hotels and restaurants serves up 20 years of success and growth for James Webber
A leading specialist recruitment agency is celebrating 20 years of success in finding the right staff to keep the hospitality industry running across the UK.
Managing Director James Webber founded James Webber Recruitment (JWR) from his home in Salisbury and has overseen company growth across four cities. JWR now has 22 staff and offices in Salisbury, Birmingham. Exeter and London.
A mix of industry knowledge, experience and the ability to adapt to fast changing markets has proved a recipe for success for James. JWR’s staff have all had careers in restaurants, hotels and bars and pride themselves on providing a tailored recruitment service for their clients.
“Our team know the industry we specialise in inside out and this has made us a trusted partner for many hotels, restaurants and bars,” said James. “JWR has grown through our reputation and our clients come back to us time and again. I personally have clients who I first dealt with while working from a table at my home in 1999.
“Industry knowledge combines with customer service to provide a focused recruitment resource for our clients. We ensure that we research our clients’ and candidates’ needs in depth, allowing JWR to recruit the right person for each job.
James enjoyed management roles in hotels and bars in his early-20s before using his knowledge to found JWR. He said: “We have grown JWR year on year, starting from modest beginnings. For around three years, I was working alone from home, before establishing our Salisbury office in 2002.
“We had a team of three by 2005 and then doubled that number when we opened in Birmingham in 2007. Further growth saw us establish a London office in 2015 and we opened in Exeter a year later.”
With each member of the JWR team being recruited from within the hospitality industry, James believes his company has a unique insight and this has driven growth. “We have the in-house ability to advise and guide clients from a position of knowledge – between the team at JWR, we have more than 250 years of experience in the hospitality sector,” explained James.
James was joined by Associate Director John Nee in 2007. He joined JWR to oversee the development of business in Birmingham after a successful career with the Forte hotels group and as a national restaurant inspector.
Operations Director Antoine Dayeh joined the business in 2013 following a successful career within Hospitality Recruitment and Managerial posts within Country House Hotels and Michelin Restaurants.
JWR recruits all positions in the hospitality sector with specialist divisions to include food and beverage; chefs; sales; senior management; finance, HR and chefs.
The four JWR offices are based at New Canal, Salisbury, Fazeley Street, Digbeth, Birmingham, Basepoint Business Park, Exeter and Austin Friars, London.
