Central London
Salary: £52,000 per annum + Individual Performance BonusAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager to lead the operations of two high-profile conference and training venues in the heart of Central London.
This is a senior leadership position, reporting directly to the Managing Director and overseeing a multidisciplinary management team across operations, client services, events, food & beverage and kitchen operations. You'll play a vital role in driving commercial performance, delivering exceptional client experiences and ensuring operational excellence across both venues.
The successful candidate will also play a significant part in the continued growth and development of the business, including supporting the successful launch and ongoing operation of a newly developed venue.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the overall operational and commercial performance of both venues, ensuring outstanding service delivery while maintaining strong financial control.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and developing a team of departmental managers
Driving operational excellence and consistently high service standards
Managing budgets, costs and venue profitability
Working alongside senior leadership to deliver business strategy and achieve KPIs
Supporting sales activity through client relationship management, venue show-rounds and handling high-value enquiries
Maximising venue utilisation, pricing and diary management
Overseeing health & safety, compliance, facilities and building standards
Working closely with catering teams to ensure exceptional food and hospitality standards
Producing management reports and analysing operational performance
Building a positive, high-performing culture across both venues
About You
We're looking for a commercially minded hospitality professional who combines exceptional operational leadership with a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
You'll ideally have:
Previous senior management experience within conference venues, meeting venues, training centres or quality hotels
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and profitability
A proven track record of leading large operational teams
Experience within the MICE or events sector
Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
Strong organisational and decision-making abilities
Excellent communication and leadership skills
The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational management
Working Hours
Monday to Friday
45 hours per week (typically between 8:00am and 7:00pm)
Flexibility to attend occasional evening client events
Very occasional weekend working with time off in lieu or overtime available
