General Manager - Reading/Berkshire area - £30,000 per annum bonus scheme!


My client is one of the UK's leading Bar brands having seen phenomenal business growth since 2006.

This exciting, unique, and very successful venue with a weekly turnover of over £40,000, is seeking a competent and proactive General Manager to oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operation and liaise with the Operations Manager to ensure the business objectives and the priorities of the company are met.

Key responsibilities include:
* Focus on sales through actively promoting, developing and growing the business.
* To manage the business to meet budgetary targets, sales, margins and profit.
* Adopt a planned approach to cost control to include wage forecasts that meet the need of the business (flexibility in relation to sales)

* Completing all daily/weekly reports effectively.
* To ensure weekly and monthly stock checks are completed.
* To ensure security of stocks and cash.

* Developing and maintaining relationships with local authorities, licencing and company consultants.
* Liaise with promotors and DJ's to ensure excellent working relationships are maintained.

* Assist in the recruitment and training of all team members
* Ensure the staff are trained to support sales and service.
* To ensure all staff members receive site induction.
* Conduct regular staff appraisals
* To ensure all staff represent the Company in a positive light with regard to correct attire, and standards of performance.

* Ensuring compliance with all legal requirements for employment
* Regularly complete audits of systems and procedures.
* Ensure all new starter paperwork is sent to head office and copies retained securely on site taking into account data protection legislation

* Assisting in providing a safe and secure environment for all customers and team members.
* Ensure safe working practices
* Ensure all employees receive all necessary Health and Safety Training.
* Act as personal license holder and ensure compliance with all licensing conditions
* Work in conjunction with the company Health and Safety Consultant when and where required.

This role would suit an existing General Manager looking for a new challenge, or Deputy General Manager looking for their next step up into Management. My client needs a General Manager with an innovative marketing mind and drive to promote the business and maximise turnover whilst maintaining the level of quality associated with the brand.
