An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager to join a funky sports bar based in Essex. Would you like to be treated as an individual? Would you like to work in an environment where it is easy to do your best every day? Would you like to attend and host food, wine and beer tastings and to learn and train others about spirits and cocktails? The client is proud of their strong customer relationships and friendly atmosphere with a high focus is on delivering standards and service. They are now looking for a strong Deputy Manager who has a similar background working in a fast paced fresh food environment.

Job Description

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • The day to day running of the business
  • Involved in stock control and gross profit margins & all financials
  • Managing and inspiring at team of over 20
  • Experienced in table service
  • Staff recruitment
  • Maintaining brand standards
  • Training and development of staff
  • Working under pressure
  • Be able to think on your feet in order to solve problems

The Ideal candidate will be:

  • An experienced General Manager with at least two years working in a funky sports bar environment
  • Able to develop and implement strategies to minimise wastage along with the Head Chef
  • Good understanding of stock control and gross profit margins
  • Totally financial accountability for the sports bar
  • Be able to manage teams
  • Experience working towards targets
  • Focus on attention to detail
  • Dealing with the Directors/owners
  • Passionate about quality food and wine & cocktails
  • Friendly and socialable personality

The ideal candidate will have great organisational skills along with the passion and commitment in driving excellent service to the clientele and a proven track record in the fresh food casual dining restaurant or an up market gastro pub industry.
