Our Client is a quality healthy eating company who are looking to recruit a dynamic and talented Sous Chef for their beautiful property. This is a great opportunity with lots of exciting things happening through the course of the year. With some significant and positive changes at the eaterie, you will be tasked with the development of the food offering in the business.

Job Description

As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for:

  • The day to day running of the kitchen team
  • Involved in some areas of stock control and gross profit margins
  • Managing and inspiring at team of up to 2/3 staff
  • Working alongside the Head Chef
  • Experience in cooking a variety of dishes from hot to cold including healthy eating
  • Involved in menu creations and costings with the Head Chef
  • Experienced in running restaurant brigades in the kitchen
  • Innovation of cooking imaginative dishes
  • Focussing on Attention to detail
  • Maintaining brand standards
  • Training and development of staff
  • Working under pressure
  • Be able to think on your feet in order to solve problems

The Ideal candidate will be:

  • An experienced Sous Chef with at least 2/3 years working in a fresh food restaurant
  • Able to develop and implement strategies to minimise wastage
  • Must have strong communication skils
  • Must have experience in managing kitchen teams
  • Passionate about healthy eating
  • Understand all elements of cost control and gross profit targets
  • Focus on attention to detail
  • Must be self motivated
  • Dealing with senior Managers and Directors
  • Good understanding about H&S and food hygiene
  • Experience in working with local ingredients
  • Friendly and upbeat personality

The ideal candidate will have great organisational skills along with the passion and commitment in driving excellent culinary service to the clientele and a proven track record in the fresh food restaurant environment.
