Located within a 20-minute drive from the Reading and Wokingham area in Berkshire

The Job Role

  • We are looking for a Head Chef with previous Large 4-star Hotel experience to join the senior management team
  • This Hotel is very corporate-driven from Monday to Friday, then leisure led at the weekends
  • Although this is a fresh food site, they are not looking for AA-rosettes
  • This Hotel has a core-company menu in place for the bar-lounge area, but you will have autonomy over the restaurant menu and function menus
  • You will be fully accountable for the on-going training and development of your kitchen team
  • Popular breakfast service catering for 150-180 covers Monday to Friday, then increases to around 250-covers over the weekend
  • Lunch service is normally made up of corporate lunches
  • Evening Service in the main restaurant averages around 100 covers most nights
  • Bar/Lounge area serving light snacks served throughout the day
  • Conference and banqueting business capable of doing 100- 250-covers
  • A popular Wedding venue that does 50 weddings a year
  • 24-hour Room service
  • Growing afternoon tea service currently doing 50-covers per day

The Requirements

  • As Head Chef you will need volume experience and be able to implement company standards throughout the Hotel
  • Previous experience with corporate Hotels would be an advantage due to the company procedures
  • As Head chef you will come from a similar management position within a large Hotel whilst running multiple outlets
  • Track record of team management and people development.
  • You will need to have a good understanding of the corporate and leisure market with previous experience with volume cooking
  • A Head chef with previous Hotel experience with AA-rosette experience
  • We are looking for a Hands-on, Self-starter who can manage their own time
  • Track record of achieving a good GP
  • Track record of implementing Health and Safety procedures
