Housekeeping Manager

The Job:

Our prestigious client is after a Housekeeping Manager who will report directly into the Deputy General Manager. The successful candidate would oversee the smooth running of the housekeeping department to maintain the exceptional standards expected by this client. The role includes managing the housekeeping team across the guest bedrooms & all public areas, ensuring that the outstanding standards of customer care & cleanliness are maintained at all times

The Essential Skills:

Personal qualities required for the Housekeeping Manager role are:

  • You must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of supervising and managing a large team of housekeeping staff within a 5-star hotel environment
  • Possess the ability to keep staff motivated during long and demanding shifts
  • Must be commercially aware, understanding the importance of working within costs & departmental budgets.
  • Possess good experience in setting an annual budget and business plan for the department
  • Must possess excellent personal presentation
  • Proven standards of IT skills and good standards of numeracy & literacy
  • Must be highly customer focused with excellent communication skills both face to face, on the telephone & via email
  • Must be highly organised and well versed in completing paperwork
  • Will be an excellent team player whilst having first class attention to detail
  • Must be self-driven and be able to work within a large team and be able & willing to be 'hands-on' at all times, including lifting & carrying of heavy items
  • Must be willing to work most weekends
