Head Chef - Private School - Working Term time only with 13 weeks holiday

The Package

The Job Role

  • We are looking for a head chef for a stunning Private School, offering homemade food with the use of fresh seasonal produce
  • This is a Tern time only position, offering you a 13-weeks holiday. But paid monthly
  • The School is based in its own private grounds with amazing views situated close to Windsor in Berkshire
  • You will be catering for both staff and pupils on-site
  • Providing high-quality special needs education for around 120-pupils and 80-staff
  • This site is made up of a primary school and secondary school with an age range of 9-19 years old
  • Food offering on-site, consist of a Breakfast club, Lunch is a Buffet style service which is broken down into two sittings and various snack breaks throughout the day.
  • Although the school doesn't cater for Events they do have the Occasional functions during the week, from graduation and Parents evenings
  • As Chef you will be required to Interaction with the pupils daily
  • You will also have a Brand-new kitchen to work in with all the latest gadgets
  • As this is a new opening, starting with around 70-pupils you will start with a small kitchen team, but as more pupils come on board you will need to interview and recruit additional kitchen members
  • You will be responsible for all menus, taking into consideration of nutrition and dietary needs. Ordering, and stock control
  • Responsible for implementing Health and Safety procedures, and all other company legal paperwork
  • You will be fully accountable for the on-going training and development of your kitchen team

The Requirements

  • Track record of team management and people development.
  • You will need to have a good understanding of dietary needs and Nutrition
  • Previous experience of running your own kitchen is essential
  • We are looking for a Hands-on, Self-starter who can manage their own time
  • Track record of achieving a good GP
  • Track record of implementing Health and Safety procedures
  • Hands-on manager
  • Proven ability to write menus whilst keeping to market trends
  • Full DBS Check will be carried out for this position
