JWR is currently working with an established family-owned business based in East Devon consisting of a diverse portfolio of hospitality businesses as well as other interests looking to recruit a General Manager for their stunning Pub with rooms, located in a beautiful Devon village.

This fantastic property combines a traditional Bar & Restaurant with 14 tastefully decorated en-suite rooms.

The property offers traditional freshly cooked food, serving meat reared from the company's own farms and fish caught from their own 'ocean-going' boats using only the finest locally sourced ingredients, washed down with local ales and ciders.

As General Manager, reporting to the director, you will be given the autonomy to run the pub and tailor the menus to suit the local clientele. You'll look to manage and deliver your own P&L whilst focusing on driving standards and increasing sales.

You will continue to maintain and build strong local relationships and actively engage with the community.

This is a hands-on role, managing the day to day operation of this busy, seasonal country pub.

Required Skills:

• 3 years previous experience within a similar role
• Proven track record in improving and developing a business with experience in growing hotel rooms.
• Strong kitchen background - A real foodie/farm to fork
• Innovative and creative
• Good understanding of P&L and cost control
• Strong leadership & people development skills
• High level of standards & service
• Strong community engagement skills
• Personal License holder
• Experience with letting rooms
• Previous experience within seasonal operations an advantage
