JWR is currently working with an independent operator looking to recruit an experienced Assistant General Manager for their Trendy Cocktail Bar/Restaurant Operation in a fantastic sea-side location in a popular Devon Town.

As Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the Owners and lead this business from the front with a hands-on approach, and drive sales whilst ensuring all operational costs are controlled, excellent levels of standards and service are delivered, GP's are strengthened and maintained and an overall great experience is delivered to all guests through the training and developing your team.

This diverse operation trades all day, every day. Open in the morning, serving coffee through to lunch and dinner, changing into more of a bar in the evenings focusing on the after-work crowd with cocktails and sharing platters, leading into the late-night party with live music and DJ's.

As Assistant General Manager, you will be highly experienced in driving sales, regularly keeping up to date with the local competitors, while coming up with fresh, creative content to enhance the business and the guests experience. You will have sound knowledge of running a late-night bar operation, whilst also being able to deliver a strong daytime offer, so a real foodie at heart is required to ensure the offer is always balanced and reflects the guest's requirements.

As Assistant General Manager, you will quickly build relationships within the local area, and engage with the local community, sponsoring sports teams, raising money and awareness for charities, promoting local bands, musicians, DJ's, and creating great events and content which will continue to solidify this venue as one of the best in the South West.

The business trades 7 days a week, with a late licence and consists of multiple bars and areas. Operating with a great reputation, reporting directly the Owners, the successful candidate will join the business from October 2020 and support in taking it to the next level!

Required Skills/Experience:

• Previous experience from a similar size operation, ideally with a good mix of branded and independent food and wet led business.
• Proven results of driving sales
• Ability to Create and deliver great content and events
• Up to date with current products and trends
• Sound knowledge of controlling and delivering P&L
• Excellent leader, developer and motivator of people
• Keen eye for detail
• Service and standards driven
• Knowledge of the local market an advantage, but not essential.
• Personal Licence & Food hygiene preferred.
• Solid understanding of licensing laws and ability to build relationships with key authorities.

Salary:

• £25-30k depending on experience + Additional benefits and bonus to be confirmed with the client
