Country House Hotel & Restaurant - Somerset/Exmoor
JWR is currently working with an award winning, Country House Hotel & Restaurant, looking for an Experienced General Manager to drive their business forwards located in a lovely medieval village in Somerset.
This stunning Country House Hotel offers 25+ bedrooms and serves a delicious menu, focusing on quality produce, all sourced locally. As General Manager you will work closely with and support the owner in running the day-to-day operation of the business. You will be hands on, leading your team from the front line, and be the face of the business, dealing with guests inquiry's, bookings and engaging with the local community.
You will identify and maximise all sales opportunities and develop the team to do the same.
As General Manager, you will be responsible for all departments across the hotel, making sure that the service and standards are delivered to the highest of levels, ensuring guests are left with the most amazing memorable experiences.
The property boasts a multi-accolade, award winning restaurant, so fine dining experience within a quality operation of a similar size and standard is preferred, but not essential.
This is a great opportunity for an existing General Manager, Management Couple or strong Deputy/Operations Manager looking to take their next step. This is a key position within the business, so the person has to be extremely hard working, dedicated and committed to go the extra mile for their guests, a real people's person, but very much a hands-on person as this is not an office role.
Required Skills:
- Experience within 4* environment of at least 12 months.
- Continually monitor the quality of standards and service
- Oversee all departments within the hotel
- Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety & Hygiene across all departments
- Monitor and maintain existing F&B control systems ensuring correct profit levels are achieved and maintained.
- Maintain excellent guest relations at all times
- Solid commercial operator with excellent financial acumen and cost control measures
- Strong leader and developer of people
The Package / Benefits / Opportunities:
- Salary from £45k+ Bonus/Profit Share, depending on experience.
- Live-in available. One bed cottage, sea views, all bills included
