An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Global Assistant Wine & Beverage Manager to join a high end trendy lifestyle company in exclusive Mayfair. The client is proud of their strong customer relationships and friendly atmosphere with a high focus on delivering standards and service. They are now looking for a strong Global Assistant Wine & Beverage Manager who has a similar funky background working in a fast paced high end lifestyle background.
Job Description
As a Global Assistant Wine & Beverage Manager you will be responsible for:
- Training & buying different varieties of beverage for the company
- Controlling all elements of stock control in the UK and abroad
- Create and update the wine list in coordination with the Sommeliers & Bar Managers throughout the company
- Organise wine tasting days
- Experience in high end fine dining restaurants & 5* hotels
- Help assisting staff in recommending food and wine pairings to the refined customers
- Ensuring and promoting wines & spirits are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware globally
- Making sure Heads Of Departments inform guests about different varieties of wines & spirits and prices
- Managing and controlling wines & spirits cellar management and ensure it's fully-stocked ast all times
- Ensuring that training and developing staff is the highest priority at all levels
- Working beside the Managers to advise guests on wines & spirits based on their personal tastes and food choices
- Working under pressure
- Negotiate purchase prices with vendors
- Be able to think on your feet in order to solve problems
The Ideal candidate will be:
- An experienced Group Sommelier/Beverage Manager with at least four years working in a similar fine dining funky/trendy high end quality restaurant or 5* hotel with multi site experience
- Ability to manage people at all levels
- MUST be flexible to travel abroad on a regular basis
- Be able to manage & motivate the team
- Good understanding of the fine wines and beverage
- Must be flexible on working patterns including weekends & bank holidays
- Experience working towards targets including forecasting & budgets
- Good openings experience and dealing with 3rd parties
- Working closely with the General Managers around the world
- Used to working in fast paced luxury environments
- Focus on attention to detail
- Knowledge of International wines & spirits
- Dealing with senior Managers and Directors
- Certification as a Sommelier/WSET or degree in hospitality is a plus
- Passionate about quality of service & standards
- Friendly and upbeat personality
The ideal candidate will have great organisational skills along with the passion and commitment in driving excellent service to the clientele and a proven track record in a funky/trendy high end quality fine dining lifestyle restaurant company or 5* hotel at multi site level.
