Our client is a quality independent restaurant who are looking to recruit a dynamic and talented General Manager for their beautiful property. This is a great opportunity with lots of exciting things happening through the course of the year. With some significant and positive changes at the restaurant, you will be tasked with the development of the entire restaurant operation.
Job Description
As a General Manager, you will be responsible for:
- The day to day running of the restaurant & bar team
- Involved in all areas of stock control and gross profit margins
- Managing and inspiring at team of up to 70+ staff
- Working alongside the Head Chef
- Running the day to day operations
- Experienced in running high volume lunch & dinner service & after drinks
- Coming up with new ideas
- Focusing on attention to detail
- Maintaining brand standards
- Training and development of staff
- Working under pressure
- Be able to think on your feet in order to solve problems
The Ideal candidate will be:
- An experienced General Manager with at least 2/3 years experience working in a hotel/restaurant environment with volume
- Must have quality dining food background
- Must have strong communication skills
- Dealing with fresh produce
- Must have volume experience
- Must have experience in managing teams
- Good knowledge of fine wines & spirits & cocktails as well as food
- Focus on attention to detail
- Flexible in working late nights and dealing with live bands and DJ's
- Must be self motivated
- Dealing with senior Managers and Directors
- Good understanding about H&S and food hygiene
- Upbeat personality
- Friendly and upbeat personality
The ideal candidate will have great organisational skills along with the passion and commitment in driving excellent culinary service to the clientele and a proven track record in an up market 4*/5* hotel/restaurant environment.
