An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Meeting & Events Manager to join an upmarket hotel group in the heart of Maidstone Kent. The client is proud of their strong customer relationships and friendly atmosphere and are looking for experienced Meeting & Events Manager who can meet the high standards of the client. Due to the demand to servicing their discerning clients, they are looking for like minded individuals who have worked in a similar Meeting & Events management role to join their team on a permanent basis.

Job Description

As a Meeting & Events you will be responsible for:

  • MUST be in a similar reactive/proactive role in a hospitality environment preferably hotels
  • All aspects of guest relations
  • Carry out operational planning
  • Driving sales strategies
  • Monitor revenue streams through events & strategy planing going forward
  • Expanding revenue streams within the events division
  • Develop relationships and partnerships with event agencies, third parties
  • Conducting presentations to the board
  • Proactive selling & business development
  • To ensure that all aspects of function sheets are fully understood and carried out as specified with the events team
  • Attending private hire events & hosting
  • Generating leads, and fostering relationships
  • Be able to build upon the sales & events department
  • Follow company and department procedures
  • Having good admin skills
  • Create new revenue streams by establishing successful partnerships with Brands, Promoters, PR agencies and Corporate clients
  • Working closely with the Sales & Events Director
  • Keeping on tract sales and events sold & monitoring success
  • Regular show rounds and events quotes
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Digital, and Social Media teams
  • Identifying problems and reacting to resolve the issues

The Ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in a similar meeting & events role within a hotel/hospitality background
  • Be able to work in small teams
  • Work towards sales targets set by the board
  • Flexible in working some weekends wiTh the needs of the business
  • Be able to work in a high demanding environment
  • Being able to act upon different situations in a precise and professional manner
  • Able to give & follow clear instructions by the Directors
  • Used to a target based environment
  • MUST have meeting & events experience
  • Must have high effective operational sales & event planning experience
  • Flexible to working some weekends
  • Experience of managing own workload with minimal supervision; able to multi-task, effectively plan work, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Used to dealing with reports
  • Being proactive and being able to think on their feet
  • Used to dealing with different types of clientele with customer service being the top priority

The ideal candidate will have great organisational skills along with the passion and commitment in driving excellent service to the clientele and a proven track record as a Meeting & Events Manager.
