Position: Financial Controller

Location: Leeds / York region

Package: £40k + bonus

Our client is the owner of an independent country house hotel actively recruiting for an experience Financial Controller

Responsible for all ledgers, VAT, Payroll etc

Responsibilities:
Ensure the daily cash-flow figures are prepared
Ensure that the daily cash, and credit card takings are reconciled on a daily basis with overs and shorts investigated and highlighted.
Ensure that the hotel revenue reports are verified on a daily basis.

Sales Ledger/Credit Policies are adhered to in line with Company Policies

Weekly Tasks:
Attend key meetings as required, such as KRA meetings.
Review outstanding balances on Sales Ledger and Guest Ledger on Clarity and flag any issues to the hotel GM.

Prepare weekly stats information for MW on a timely basis.

Monthly Tasks/Accounts Preparation:
Close month end in a timely manner in accordance with group deadlines, ensuring all accruals, prepayments, inter company accounts and statistics are accurately captured in the correct financial period.
Reconcile the bank accounts on a monthly basis as a minimum, highlighting any risk or abnormalities to MW.
Ensure that the hotel floats are counted on a quarterly basis and that petty cash is fully reconciled and posted.
Review the P&Ls with the hotel GM and senior team on a monthly basis and complete any supplementary reports as requested.
Reconcile the balance sheets on a monthly basis, ensuring any risk is highlighted to MW.
Liaise as necessary with stock taker to ensure policies are adhered to and that stock is counted and reported correctly in the accounts.
Provide ad-hoc analysis to MW/GMs as required.
