JWR is delighted to be recruiting an exceptional Director of Golf, Spa and Leisure for a flagship luxury resort destination. This is a senior, strategic leadership role for an accomplished operator who thrives at the intersection of guest experience, commercial performance and people development.
This position sits on the senior leadership team and reports directly to the Resort Operations Director, with responsibility for leading the Heads of Golf and Retail, Spa Operations, and Leisure and Activities.Package

The Role
This is a broad, influential role with full accountability for the strategic and operational direction of Golf, Spa and Leisure. You will shape and deliver a guest-centric, five-star experience while driving commercial success, innovation and sustainable growth across all areas of responsibility.
You will set standards, build culture, lead high-performing teams and ensure the product consistently exceeds guest and member expectations, all while maintaining strong financial controls and developing future talent.Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operations- Develop and implement the operational and commercial strategy for Golf, Spa and Leisure.
- Lead large, multi-faceted teams through clear structure, strong governance and inspirational leadership.
- Establish and maintain SOPs, KPIs and controls across all departments.
- Ensure all facilities, equipment and guest areas are maintained to the highest standards.
Guest Experience
- Champion a guest-centric culture that delivers exceptional, memorable experiences.
- Work closely with departmental leaders to continually enhance service quality.
- Act as a senior ambassador with members, clients, agents and event stakeholders.
- Support and deliver owned events and major client events across the resort.
People & Culture
- Recruit, develop and inspire senior leaders and their teams.
- Embed a positive, high-performance people culture aligned with the wider business values.
- Oversee appraisals, training standards, succession planning and well-being initiatives.
- Build a sustainable talent pipeline focused on growth and progression.
Commercial & Financial Performance
- Own and deliver budgets, forecasts and profitability targets.
- Drive revenue growth through yield management, innovation and product development.
- Control costs, payroll, stock and capital expenditure effectively.
- Build and review supplier relationships and brand partnerships to ensure commercial viability.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Lead change, innovation and product development initiatives.
- Analyse performance data, guest feedback and financial results to drive improvements.
- Report regularly to the Executive Team with clear insights and recommendations.
About You
You will be a confident, credible and forward-thinking leader with a proven track record in golf, spa or leisure operations at a senior level.
Essential- Minimum 6 year's experience within golf, spa or leisure, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven ability to deliver results in complex, high-volume operations.
- Highly developed leadership and people management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting and yield management.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
Desirable
- Degree or higher-level qualification in hospitality, golf or a related field.
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- PGA qualification (Class AA).
- Experience delivering large-scale corporate, charity or professional golf events.
- Exposure to organisational change programmes and industry benchmarking tools.
- Full UK driving licence.
