The Role
As Head Chef, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring consistently exceptional food quality, team development and commercial performance.
Key responsibilities include:- Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen brigade
- Delivering consistently high food standards across all service periods
- Managing food costs, labour costs and kitchen budgets
- Creating seasonal menus that celebrate quality British ingredients
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and local producers
- Ensuring compliance with all food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations
- Managing stock control, ordering and waste reduction initiatives
- Driving creativity and innovation throughout the kitchen operation
- Maintaining a positive, professional and high-performing kitchen culture
Requirements
We are seeking a hands-on and inspirational Head Chef who thrives in a busy fresh-food environment and takes pride in developing both people and menus.
You will have:- Previous experience as a Head Chef or a strong Senior Sous Chef ready for their next challenge
- Experience within high-volume fresh-food kitchens
- Strong leadership and people development skills
- Excellent organisational and financial management abilities
- A genuine passion for quality ingredients and British cuisine
- A calm and professional approach under pressure
- High standards of food presentation, consistency and service delivery
- A proactive and positive management style
