Located in a prime location in Berkshire, the property features well-appointed guest rooms, an upscale restaurant and bar, a fully equipped fitness center, and state-of-the-art meeting and event facilities. With a number of versatile event spaces, including ballrooms, boardrooms, and outdoor areas, we cater to a wide range of functions, from corporate conferences and product launches to weddings and private celebrations. Our dedicated team takes pride in offering personalized service and seamless execution for all events.
Job Purpose:
To proactively manage and grow the hotel's Meetings & Events segment by driving sales, developing client relationships, and ensuring the successful coordination and delivery of all booked functions. This role plays a key part in achieving revenue targets while maintaining the hotel's 4-star service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a proactive sales strategy to drive event revenue.
- Respond to incoming event enquiries, conduct site visits, and create compelling proposals.
- Convert leads into confirmed bookings by showcasing the hotel's facilities and services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and agencies.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
- Work closely with operations, banqueting, and F&B teams to ensure event delivery meets or exceeds expectations.
- Manage event logistics from confirmation through post-event feedback and billing.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM system and prepare regular sales reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2/3 years of experience in meeting and event sales, preferably within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment.
- Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Commercially driven with a passion for customer service.
- Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of hotel sales software (e.g., Opera, Delphi) is a plus.
- Flexible and able to work evenings/weekends when required.
Work Conditions:
- Full-time role with some flexibility for client meetings and events outside standard business hours.
- Based on-site with regular interaction with both clients and hotel departments.
KPIs / Performance Metrics:
- Monthly and annual event sales revenue.
- Client conversion rates and repeat business.
- Lead response and proposal turnaround times.
- Guest satisfaction scores (M&E segment).
- Number of site visits and new business calls
