General Manager - Country House Hotel

About the Property

Nestled in beautiful countryside, this charming country house hotel is a thriving destination for both visitors and the local community. With a strong leisure following, a busy wedding calendar, and a well-regarded restaurant that draws loyal local diners, the property combines relaxed rural charm with consistently high hospitality standards.

Remuneration

  • A basic salary of £52'000-55'000
  • Performance related incentives
  • Discounted discounts for F&B, Spa and accommodation across the group
  • Promotion opportunities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring General Manager to take full responsibility for this successful mid-market country hotel. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hospitality professional ready to bring fresh energy and ideas to a much-loved business.

The position would equally suit an established General Manager looking for a rewarding new challenge, or a talented Deputy General Manager eager to take that first step into a full leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of daily hotel operations, ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable stay.
  • Lead, train, and inspire a motivated team across rooms, food & beverage, weddings, and events.
  • Drive profitability through effective revenue management, cost control, and local marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain the hotel's strong community reputation as a go-to dining and event venue.
  • Work closely with the owners to deliver agreed commercial goals and development plans.

About You

  • Proven leadership experience within quality, independent or country house hotels.
  • A passion for exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
  • Commercially astute with good P&L and business acumen.
  • Approachable, visible, and hands-on in your management style.
  • A team-oriented leader who thrives in a rural, guest-focused environment.

Why This Role?

As General Manager, you'll have the autonomy to shape the hotel's future success while working with supportive owners and an engaged team. This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected, profitable country property where your contribution will truly make a difference
