Housekeeping Supervisor - Hotel Company - Up To £28,000 + Benefits - SW London
IMMEDIATE START
The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest service within the hotel. This role oversees daily housekeeping operations, coordinates room attendants, ensures compliance with brand standards, and supports the Housekeeping Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the work of Room Attendants, Public Area Cleaners, and Laundry Staff.
- Conduct daily room inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance reporting, and brand consistency.
- Prioritise room allocations to meet guest arrivals, VIP requests, early check-ins, and special requirements.
- Ensure all public areas, back-of-house areas, and staff facilities are maintained to a high standard.
- Monitor housekeeping stores and assist with stock control, including linen, cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and uniforms.
- Support opening and closing procedures for the department.
Guest Service
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery situations.
- Coordinate the delivery of guest amenities (cots, extra beds, toiletries, special requests, etc.)
- Maintain excellent working relationships with Front Office, Maintenance, and F&B teams.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead, support, and motivate the housekeeping team throughout the shift.
- Train new and existing staff on cleaning techniques, safety standards, and hotel procedures.
- Monitor performance and provide feedback to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Ensure team adherence to health and safety regulations, COSHH guidelines, and risk assessment procedures.
Administration
- Assist with rota planning, timekeeping checks, and absence reporting.
- Support inventory counts and stock ordering processes.
- Secure lost property in line with hotel policy and maintain accurate documentation.
- Complete shift handover reports and communicate key information effectively.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in housekeeping within a hotel environment (supervisory experience desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and passion for maintaining high standards.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- Confident leader with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and prioritise effectively.
- Proficient with housekeeping systems or PMS software (training will be provided).
- Knowledge of health & safety, COSHH, and manual handling procedures.
