Hotel Operations Manager
Cornwall
JWR is working with a well-regarded hotel in Cornwall to recruit an experienced and personable Operations Manager. This is a highly visible, hands-on role, supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the hotel, with a strong focus on Food & Beverage, particularly bar operations, cellar management, and service quality.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading from the front, developing people, and creating memorable guest experiences.

The Role

  • Supporting the General Manager in overseeing all hotel departments
  • Playing a key leadership role within Food & Beverage operations
  • Ensuring warm, consistent, and high-quality guest experiences
  • Coaching and developing Food & Beverage and operational teams
  • Maintaining excellent bar standards, cellar management, and stock control
  • Managing liquor margins, payroll costs, and departmental budgets
  • Driving revenue through up-selling, engagement, and team incentives
  • Working with senior team members to develop food and drinks menus
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing, health & safety, and brand standards
  • Handling guest feedback and resolving issues with professionalism and care
  • Running team briefings, appraisals, and performance reviews
  • Promoting sustainability and environmentally responsible working practices
  • Supporting other departments and encouraging a strong one-team culture

Requirements

  • Experience in hotel operations or senior Food & Beverage management
  • Strong knowledge of bar operations, cellar management, and beverage controls
  • A hands-on, people-first leadership style
  • High standards of personal presentation and professionalism
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong planning skills
  • Calm, positive, and guest-focused under pressure
  • Commercially aware and confident working with budgets and targets
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about hospitality
