About the Role
We are seeking a polished, professional, and highly organised Head Receptionist to lead the front office team at a luxury hotel in the Basingstoke area. This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the reception desk.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the reception and front desk, ensuring seamless guest service at all times
- Lead, train, and motivate the reception team to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality
- Act as the first point of contact for VIP guests, handling enquiries, requests, and complaints with discretion and efficiency
- Manage room allocations, check-ins, and check-outs, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintain strong communication with housekeeping, reservations, and other departments
- Monitor and improve guest satisfaction scores and feedback
- Ensure all front office procedures, policies, and standards are consistently followed
- Handle cash management, billing, and reporting duties
- Assist with recruitment, training, and performance management of reception staff
Requirements
- Previous experience in a supervisory or head receptionist role within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Impeccable presentation and professional manner
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve issues efficiently
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with hotel management systems (PMS)
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
