Head Chef - Fresh Food Restaurant - Up To 48k + Bonuses - Brighton Areas
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a high-volume, fresh food branded restaurant in Brighton. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong kitchen leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record within established fresh food restaurant brands.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving food quality, managing kitchen operations, developing their team, and delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing kitchen team.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality fresh food across all service periods.
- Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering, GP management and labour costs.
- Drive food safety, health & safety and compliance standards throughout the kitchen.
- Recruit, train and develop chefs at all levels, creating a positive and engaging culture.
- Work closely with the General Manager to achieve business objectives and maximise profitability.
- Maintain brand standards and ensure operational excellence at all times.
- Deliver efficient kitchen service during busy trading periods while maintaining exceptional food quality.
About You
We are specifically seeking candidates who have:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to step up within a busy branded restaurant environment.
- A strong fresh food background with experience preparing food from scratch.
- Experience working within recognised restaurant brands where consistency and standards are paramount.
- A proven ability to manage high-volume service while maintaining quality.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing labour, stock and food margins.
- Excellent leadership, coaching and people development skills.
- A hands-on approach and passion for delivering outstanding food and guest experiences.
- Up-to-date food safety and health & safety knowledge.
