Sous Chef
£34-36k DOE | 4-Star Hotel | Cheshire | Straightforward Shift Patterns | No Regular Split Shifts
Are you a Sous Chef with strong hotel banqueting experience looking for a role with better hours and a good work-life balance?
We're recruiting for a Sous Chef to join a busy 4-star hotel in Cheshire, working alongside an experienced Head Chef and an established kitchen team.
Why Apply?
- Mainly 1pm-9:30pm shifts
- Occasional 5:30am-2pm breakfast shifts
- No regular split shifts
- Established kitchen team
- Restaurant, weddings, conferences & banqueting
- Opportunity to lead and develop the brigade
- Excellent benefits
The Role
You'll work closely with the Head Chef to run the day-to-day kitchen operation, delivering high-quality food across the restaurant and a busy events calendar.
The hotel hosts a significant number of weddings, conferences and private events, so previous hotel banqueting experience is essential.
You'll be responsible for:
- Supporting and deputising for the Head Chef.
- Leading the brigade during busy services.
- Delivering food to a consistently high standard.
- Managing restaurant and banqueting services.
- Supporting stock control, ordering and GP.
- Maintaining food safety and kitchen standards.
- Developing and motivating the team.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef who:
- Has proven hotel banqueting experience.
- Is confident catering for weddings and large events.
- Enjoys working in a busy, high-volume kitchen.
- Is hands-on, organised and quality-focused.
- Wants a stable role with a better work-life balance.
If you're a Sous Chef looking for a busy kitchen without the usual hotel hours, we'd like to hear from you.
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available.
