Independent 4-Star Georgian Country House HotelWe are looking for an ambitious Director of Sales / Senior Business Development Manager to join an established independent 4-star country house hotel with 60+ bedrooms, a strong weddings and events business, conference facilities and an established restaurant operation.
This is a highly visible, hands-on sales role with genuine scope to develop new business, grow local accounts and increase revenue across corporate, conference, weddings and private events.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the senior management team, you will take responsibility for driving the hotel's sales strategy and delivering budgeted revenue, with a particular focus on:
- Growing corporate and conference business
- Driving Day Delegate rates
- Developing new local and regional accounts
- Building strong relationships with existing clients and developing new business
- Conducting face-to-face sales appointments, client visits and proactive telesales
- Identifying new markets, sales opportunities and partnerships
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity
- Contributing to the overall commercial strategy of the hotel
This is an outbound, business-development-focused role for someone who enjoys being out in the market, meeting clients, understanding about building relationships and winning business.
About You
We are looking for an experienced hotel sales professional who can demonstrate a strong track record of business development and revenue generation.
You may currently be a Director of Sales, Senior Sales Manager or Business Development Manager within a hotel or conference/events environment and be ready for the next step.
You will have:
- Proven hotel sales experience with a strong record of winning new business
- Excellent knowledge of corporate, conference and events markets
- A strong network of local and regional business contacts
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the relationship between sales and profitability
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to business development
- The confidence to represent the hotel at client meetings and industry events
This is a full-time, field-based sales role, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling throughout the local and regional market, with a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
