Our client is a well-established, fresh-food restaurant in West Sussex with a strong reputation for quality, seasonal cooking and great hospitality. Their menus focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, working closely with local suppliers and producers to make the most of what is available throughout the year.

Alongside the restaurant, we also cater for a range of private events, celebrations and functions, giving us a varied and exciting food operation. We are looking for an experienced Head Chef who shares our passion for quality ingredients, excellent cooking and high standards.

The Role

• Lead and manage the kitchen team.

• Create fresh, seasonal menus using locally sourced ingredients.

• Maintain consistently high standards of food quality and presentation.

• Manage food costs, GP, stock and ordering.

• MUST be able to drive due to location

• Build strong relationships with local suppliers and producers.

• Oversee kitchen hygiene, health & safety and food standards.

• Recruit, train and develop kitchen staff.

• Plan and deliver menus for restaurant service and events.

• Work closely with the management team on menus and the overall food offering.

About You

We're looking for a hands-on, creative and commercially aware chef with proven senior kitchen experience.

You will have:

• Previous Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef experience.

• A genuine passion for fresh, seasonal and local food.

• Strong menu development and costing skills.

• Experience managing and developing a kitchen team.

• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

• The ability to deliver consistently under pressure.

• Ideally, experience with events, private dining or outside catering.

Salary: up to £65,000 depending on experience.
