Assistant General Manager - Wet Led Venue - Up To 40K + Benefits - Cambridge Areas
IMMEDIATE START
We're looking for an experienced, commercially minded Assistant General Manager to join our team at a busy, high-energy interactive venue in Cambridge.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious hospitality professional who comes from a drinks-led environment such as pubs, bars, late-night venues or high-volume casual hospitality, and who is ready to take the next step in their career.
You'll be a key part of the management team, helping to lead a large team, deliver an exceptional guest experience and drive the commercial performance of the venue.
This is not a desk-based management role. We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading from the front and creating a great atmosphere for both guests and the team.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day running of a busy, high-volume venue.
Taking responsibility for the operation of the venue in the General Manager's absence.
Leading, motivating and developing a large team across front-of-house, bar and operational areas.
Managing busy services while maintaining high standards of guest experience.
Driving sales, particularly across drinks, bar and premium experiences.
Monitoring and managing key commercial KPIs including sales, labour costs, GP and operational costs.
Understanding and confidently working with Profit & Loss accounts, using financial information to make informed operational decisions.
Managing rotas, labour deployment and staffing levels to maximise efficiency without compromising service.
Recruiting, training, coaching and developing team members and supervisors.
Ensuring excellent standards across service, cleanliness, health & safety and compliance.
Dealing confidently with guest issues and resolving problems quickly and professionally.
Working closely with the General Manager to deliver budgets, sales targets and commercial plans.
Helping to create an energetic, fun and welcoming environment for both guests and employees.
Supporting events, peak trading periods and promotional activity.
Ensuring the venue consistently delivers against company standards and operating procedures.
About You
We're looking for someone who has proven experience managing a busy, drinks-led hospitality operation.
You'll ideally have experience as an Assistant General Manager, Deputy Manager, General Manager, Bar Manager or Senior Manager within a pub, bar, late-night venue, restaurant/bar or similar high-volume environment.
You will be:
An experienced people leader who knows how to manage and motivate large teams.
Commercially aware and comfortable working with high turnover and demanding trading periods.
Confident reading and understanding P&L accounts and financial performance.
Strong on labour management, rotas and cost control.
Passionate about drinks, hospitality and delivering great guest experiences.
Hands-on, energetic and visible on the floor.
Calm and decisive when things get busy.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
A natural leader who can build strong relationships with their team.
Comfortable holding people accountable while creating a positive team culture.
Ambitious and keen to progress within a growing hospitality business.
What We're Looking For

A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
Desirable:
Experience within an entertainment, experiential or interactive venue.
