Maintenance Manager - Independent 50-Bedroom Hotel | Near Salisbury | £35,000-£40,000

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join an independently owned 50-bedroom hotel near Salisbury.

This is a hands-on role with genuine ownership of the property's maintenance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the hotel, bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities are maintained to a high standard, while working closely with the wider hotel team to keep the operation running smoothly.

The role would suit an experienced Hotel Maintenance Manager who enjoys working in an independent environment where communication, initiative and a practical approach are highly valued.

The Role

• Take overall responsibility for the hotel's day-to-day maintenance and engineering requirements
• Carry out and oversee reactive and planned preventative maintenance across the property
• Ensure bedrooms, public areas, kitchens, plant rooms and back-of-house areas are maintained to a high standard
• Identify potential maintenance issues and address them proactively before they impact guests or operations
• Manage external contractors and specialist suppliers where required
• Maintain appropriate records relating to servicing, inspections and statutory compliance
• Support the hotel with Health & Safety and compliance requirements
• Work closely with department heads and the senior management team to respond quickly to operational maintenance requirements
• Assist with refurbishment, improvement and small capital projects
• Monitor maintenance costs and ensure expenditure is managed effectively
• Maintain a safe, comfortable and well-presented environment for both guests and colleagues

About You

• Previous experience as a Hotel Maintenance Manager is essential
• Strong practical knowledge of hotel maintenance and building services
• A recognised trade background - electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical or similar - would be highly advantageous
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across all hotel departments
• Hands-on, proactive and able to diagnose and resolve problems independently
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and statutory compliance
• Well organised with good attention to detail
• Comfortable managing contractors and external suppliers
• A genuine team player who takes pride in the condition and presentation of the property
• Able to balance planned maintenance with the demands of a busy hotel operation

• £35,000-£40,000 basic salary, depending on experience
