Business Development Executive
Location: Hertfordshire
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-FridayThe Opportunity
A leading Hotel with extensive conference and events offering is seeking a motivated and ambitious Business Development Executive to support the growth of its corporate meetings, conferences, and events business.
This role focuses on generating new business opportunities, identifying prospective clients, and creating qualified sales appointments for the Business Development team. It offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a successful career within B2B sales in the hospitality sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research prospective corporate clients
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive telephone, email, LinkedIn, networking, and market engagement
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects within the CRM system
- Conduct market research to identify new industries, organisations, and commercial opportunities
- Support the preparation of sales presentations, proposals, and client materials
- Attend networking events, FAM Trips, and events to increase market awareness and industry knowledge
- Arrange high-quality meetings, site visits, and sales opportunities for the Business Development team
About You
- 1-2 years' experience within a sales, business development, hospitality sales, or customer-facing role
- Confident communicator with excellent listening and questioning skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and follow-up discipline
- Comfortable using CRM systems and sales tools, or eager to develop these skills
- Proactive, resilient, and confident initiating conversations with prospective clients
- Commercially aware with a genuine interest in understanding client needs
- Target-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ambitious and motivated to progress into a senior sales or business development role
