Our client, a well-established hotel group in the Reigate Surrey areas, is seeking an experienced and talented Banqueting Head Chef to lead its busy events and banqueting operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef with a strong hotel background and experience working within a minimum 1 AA Rosette standard kitchen, who is passionate about delivering exceptional food for weddings, conferences, private dining, and large-scale events.
The Role
As Banqueting Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of the banqueting kitchen, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality food across a diverse range of events. You will work closely with senior management to develop menus, maintain standards, and drive the performance of the kitchen brigade.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the banqueting kitchen operation
- Deliver high-quality food for weddings, corporate events, conferences, and private functions
- Ensure food quality consistently meets and exceeds 1 AA Rosette standards
- Plan and develop seasonal banqueting and event menus
- Manage food costs, stock control, and labour budgets effectively
- Recruit, train, and develop kitchen team members
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Work collaboratively with the Events and Front of House teams to ensure seamless service delivery
The Ideal Candidate
- Currently working as a Banqueting Head Chef, Head Chef, or Senior Sous Chef within a quality hotel environment
- Experience within a minimum 1 AA Rosette operation is essential
- Strong background in high-volume banqueting and events catering
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a successful kitchen brigade
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Commercially aware with strong cost control experience
- Passionate about food quality, presentation, and guest experience
