The Role
As Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role within the kitchen, supporting the Chef Director in delivering an exceptional dining experience built around seasonality, sustainability and outstanding ingredients.
You will help drive standards across all areas of the kitchen while mentoring and developing the brigade, ensuring consistency, creativity and excellence in every service.
Key responsibilities include:- Supporting the Chef Director in the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Leading service and maintaining exceptional culinary standards
- Assisting with seasonal menu development and daily specials
- Working closely with local producers and suppliers
- Utilising produce from the kitchen garden to create ingredient-led dishes
- Training, mentoring and developing junior chefs
- Maintaining excellent food safety and kitchen compliance standards
- Supporting stock control, ordering and GP management
- Driving consistency, quality and attention to detail throughout the operation
Requirements
We are keen to speak with ambitious Sous Chefs who are passionate about exceptional food and looking to develop their career within a highly respected food-led environment.
You will ideally have:- Previous experience within a Michelin-starred, Michelin Guide or multi-Rosette kitchen
- Strong classical cooking foundations and modern culinary techniques
- A genuine passion for seasonal, farm-to-table cooking
- Experience working with premium British produce
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Calm and composed service leadership
- High standards and strong attention to detail
- A collaborative approach and desire to mentor others
- The ambition and potential to progress into a future Head Chef position
