An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Reception Manager to join a beautiful historic property in Hertfordshire.

This highly visible role sits at the heart of the guest journey and is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives on delivering exceptional service, leading from the front, and developing high-performing teams.

We are seeking an engaging and organised Reception Manager with strong operational experience, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences within a quality hotel environment.

The Role

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a Front Office team of 5+ colleagues
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of reception and guest services
  • Drive exceptional customer service standards and guest satisfaction
  • Manage rota planning, team performance, training, and development
  • Ensure smooth and efficient check-in and check-out processes
  • Handle guest enquiries and resolve issues professionally and effectively
  • Maintain accurate room inventory and operational procedures through Opera Cloud
  • Work closely with Housekeeping, Reservations, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage departments to ensure a seamless guest experience

About You

  • Previous experience as a Reception Manager, Front Office Manager, or Senior Reception Supervisor within a hotel environment
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams of 5 or more
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of Opera Cloud
  • Passionate about guest service and hospitality excellence
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Calm under pressure with a hands-on approach to leadership
  • Comfortable working a flexible shift pattern across a 5-day over 7-day operation

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a rotating shift basis including:

  • Early shifts
  • Mid shifts
  • Late shifts
