An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Reception Manager to join a beautiful historic property in Hertfordshire.
This highly visible role sits at the heart of the guest journey and is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives on delivering exceptional service, leading from the front, and developing high-performing teams.
We are seeking an engaging and organised Reception Manager with strong operational experience, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences within a quality hotel environment.
The Role
- Lead, motivate, and develop a Front Office team of 5+ colleagues
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of reception and guest services
- Drive exceptional customer service standards and guest satisfaction
- Manage rota planning, team performance, training, and development
- Ensure smooth and efficient check-in and check-out processes
- Handle guest enquiries and resolve issues professionally and effectively
- Maintain accurate room inventory and operational procedures through Opera Cloud
- Work closely with Housekeeping, Reservations, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
About You
- Previous experience as a Reception Manager, Front Office Manager, or Senior Reception Supervisor within a hotel environment
- Proven experience managing and developing teams of 5 or more
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of Opera Cloud
- Passionate about guest service and hospitality excellence
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Calm under pressure with a hands-on approach to leadership
- Comfortable working a flexible shift pattern across a 5-day over 7-day operation
Shift Pattern
This role operates on a rotating shift basis including:
- Early shifts
- Mid shifts
- Late shifts
