We're delighted to be working with a well-established hotel on the outskirts of Derby that is looking to appoint an engaging and hands-on Operations Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager or an ambitious Front Office Manager from a branded hotel environment who is ready to broaden their operational responsibilities and progress their career.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day Rooms Division, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while driving operational efficiency, team engagement and commercial performance.
The Role
As Rooms Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in the smooth running of the hotel, leading the Front Office and Housekeeping teams and ensuring consistently high service standards throughout the guest journey.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and motivating the Front Office and Housekeeping teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Taking ownership of the day-to-day Rooms Division operation.
- Driving guest satisfaction and ensuring service standards are consistently exceeded.
- Supporting the recruitment, training and development of your teams.
- Managing departmental budgets, payroll and operational costs.
- Working closely with the General Manager and Heads of Department to deliver the hotel's commercial objectives.
- Monitoring guest feedback and implementing continuous service improvements.
- Ensuring brand standards and compliance procedures are maintained at all times.
- Acting as Duty Manager and providing operational leadership across the hotel when required.
About You
We're looking for an engaging hospitality professional who enjoys leading people and delivering memorable guest experiences.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager or an established Front Office Manager looking for the next step.
- A background within a branded UK hotel is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
- A hands-on management style with a visible presence across the operation.
- Excellent guest service and problem-solving abilities.
- Good commercial awareness with experience managing departmental performance.
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
