JWR is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen of an award-winning country inn in a picturesque East Devon coastal village.
Set within a beautiful 14th-century property, this destination pub combines characterful dining with stylish guest accommodation.
Surrounded by countryside and close to the Jurassic Coast, it attracts local diners, overnight guests and visitors throughout the year.

The Role
As Head Chef, you will lead the kitchen and back-of-house operation, ensuring quality, consistency and strong commercial performance.
Key responsibilities include:- Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen team
- Delivering seasonal menus using quality local produce
- Maintaining excellent food quality, presentation and consistency
- Managing rotas, recruitment and training
- Controlling food costs, labour, stock and wastage
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and compliance standards
- Working closely with the General Manager and front-of-house team
- Supporting events, promotions and key trading periods
Requirements
We are looking for an established Head Chef with experience in a busy fresh-food pub, restaurant, hotel or destination dining venue. You will be:- Passionate about seasonal, locally sourced food
- A confident and supportive team leader
- Commercially aware with strong cost-control skills
- Organised, adaptable and calm under pressure
- Experienced in delivering consistent standards across multiple services
- Knowledgeable in food safety, allergens and kitchen compliance
