Premium Food Service Provider - West Devon/Plymouth/Ivybridge
JWR is currently recruiting for an exciting Education Catering Account Manager opportunity with a leading premium food service provider in Devon.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef or catering professional from a quality, fresh-food background who is looking to step into a varied operational role supporting a portfolio of education accounts across the region.
The successful candidate will work closely with schools to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of the company's catering offer, helping to transform the quality, nutritional value and variety of food being served to pupils.
With pupil safety and wellbeing at the heart of the position, you will support schools with menu development, allergens, nutrition, kitchen processes, staff training and food quality, ensuring consistently high standards across the portfolio.The Package

The Role:
As Education Catering Account Manager, you will build strong relationships with individual schools and their catering teams, providing hands-on support, training and guidance.
You will use your culinary experience to help develop exciting, fresh and nutritionally balanced menus while ensuring all food provision meets required nutritional, allergen and government guidelines.
This is very much a hands-on position and would suit an experienced chef who enjoys developing people, improving standards and sharing their knowledge beyond the traditional kitchen environment.- Work closely with schools to develop bespoke menus and meal solutions
- Identify and understand individual pupil allergy and dietary requirements
- Create exciting menus tailored to the specific allergen requirements of individual schools and pupils
- Design and deliver menus in accordance with current government food and nutritional guidelines
- Ensure all menus are thoroughly checked for allergens and dietary compliance
- Demonstrate how fresh ingredients can be used to produce restaurant-quality food within a school environment
- Promote healthy eating and nutritionally balanced, wholesome food
- Support the successful implementation of the company's food offering across existing and newly joining schools
- Review kitchen processes and introduce improvements where required
- Train, coach and develop school kitchen teams
- Assess cookery skills and provide practical training, demonstrations and advice
- Develop strong working relationships with schools and key stakeholders
- Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, safety and operational delivery across your accounts
Requirements
- Strong culinary background with at least 3 years' professional catering experience
- Experience working with quality, fresh ingredients
- Previous education or school catering experience would be highly advantageous
- Previous experience managing catering accounts or multiple sites would be beneficial
- Strong understanding of food allergens, nutrition and food safety
- Ability to train, coach, motivate and develop others
- Comfortable demonstrating cooking techniques and best practice
- Experience of setting targets and measuring performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confident building relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple accounts effectively
- Good IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
