Operations Director - Luxury Hospitality & Leisure

JWR is working exclusively with a high-end hospitality and leisure business to recruit an experienced Operations Director for a senior, hands-on leadership position.
This is a broad and varied operational role within a unique, multi-faceted destination combining accommodation, food and beverage, leisure, guest services and wider property operations.
The business is looking for a commercially minded operator who is comfortable working across multiple departments, building strong teams, improving systems and standards, and maintaining an exceptional guest experience.
This is not a traditional hotel General Manager position. The successful candidate will be highly visible within the operation, comfortable dealing with owners and senior stakeholders, and capable of balancing commercial performance with day-to-day operational delivery.

Package
Salary: £60,000-£85,000 depending on experience, plus benefits

The Role
As Operations Director, you will take responsibility for the smooth and effective running of the wider operation, working closely with the ownership and senior leadership team.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading day-to-day operations across accommodation, guest services, food and beverage, leisure and wider estate functions
• Providing strong leadership to departmental heads and operational teams
• Developing and implementing effective SOPs, processes and operational standards
• Driving consistency across all areas of the guest journey
• Managing budgets, labour, costs and operational performance
• Supporting revenue growth and identifying commercial opportunities
• Overseeing property standards, maintenance, contractors and compliance
• Developing strong relationships with owners, residents, guests and key stakeholders
• Recruiting, developing and retaining high-performing teams
• Ensuring the business consistently delivers a premium and highly personalised experience
• Supporting future growth, development and new operational initiatives

Requirements
We are looking for an experienced senior operator with a strong track record within a complex hospitality, leisure or resort environment.
You may currently be operating as an:

• Operations Director
• Director of Operations
• Resort Director / Resort Manager
• Head of Operations
• Regional Operations Manager
• Senior General Manager within a complex resort or leisure environment

Experience within luxury resorts, private estates, holiday resorts, lodge developments, leisure destinations, premium hospitality or mixed-use operations would be particularly relevant.
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:

• Strong multi-department operational leadership
• Experience managing large and diverse teams
• Commercial and financial awareness
• Experience across accommodation, leisure, F&B and guest-facing operations
• Exposure to property, maintenance and contractor management
• Strong stakeholder and owner relationship management
• Experience improving operational systems and processes
• A highly hands-on and visible leadership style
• The ability to operate effectively within an entrepreneurial and evolving business
• High standards of guest experience and service delivery
