Reception Manager
Luxury Family Hotel - Cornwall
JWR are excited to be working with a leading, independent and forward-thinking collection of Luxury Hotels across the South West, looking to recruit an experienced Reception Manager for their property in a stunning Cornish location.
The Hotel is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment and investment to re-position itself as one of the leading 4* Luxury family hotels in the area. Work is due to be completed early next year, and the position is available from March 2021.
The seven-figure investment will see improvements across all areas of the property including bedrooms, public areas, kitchen, bar & restaurant and additional facilities.
As Reception Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key part in the recruitment, training and developing of a brand-new Reception team, ensuring they are ready to re-launch the department in early Spring 2021.
You will already be an experienced Reception Manager/Supervisor, with previous experience within a 4/5 Star family focused property, looking for their next challenge.
As Reception Manager, you will help set and maintain service standards, ensure guest satisfaction, support in driving sales conversion and assist with maximising revenues across all departments.
You will manage operational practices and procedures to company standards whilst leading, developing and motivating the team to achieve goals and targets.
As Reception Manager, you will play a big part in assisting the hotel in achieving its key accountability's relating to; Profitability, Quality, Staff & H&S. You will have excellent customer and interpersonal skills and be someone who is a natural team leader. In this role you will be responsible for managing all the operational aspects of the Reception Desk.
As Reception Manager, your role will include the direct management of the reception team, preparation of rotas to ensure the delivery of exceptional front of house services in keeping with departmental budgets, attending weekly HOD meetings, staff recruitment, appraisals, development and disciplinary procedures.
The successful candidate will ensure that the reception team provide an efficient and top-quality service providing the ultimate guest experience for all their customers.
This is a key position within the business, so the successful candidate has to be extremely hard working, dedicated and committed to go the extra mile for their guests, a real people's person, but very much a hands-on as this is not an office role.
Required Skills:
- Experience within a similar size property to 4/5*
- Assist in maximising occupancy, average spend and RevPAR.
- Develop and demonstrate sales techniques to improve revenue
- Support, coach and train the team as required.
- Maintain personnel and health & safety records
- Fully understand and apply the company procedure in the event of fire.
- Ensure the team receive appropriate health and safety training.
- Carry out risk assessments for the department and report any unsafe equipment or activity.
- Good understanding or PMS & booking systems
- Naturally friendly and calm manner
- Confident personality
- Passion for delivering outstanding customer service at all times
- Highly motivated with excellent organisational skills
