Hotel Maintenance Manager - Derby, East Midlands
Salary: Circa £40,000-£42,000 + Bonus
Are you a hands-on Maintenance Manager with a passion for delivering high standards in a fast-paced hotel environment? A well-established, reputable hotel in the East Midlands is seeking a skilled Hotel Maintenance Manager to join their senior leadership team.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll take full ownership of the day-to-day maintenance operations across a 150+ bedroom hotel. This includes ensuring full statutory compliance, health and safety adherence, and the smooth delivery of both reactive and planned maintenance. You'll also be responsible for managing internal teams and external contractors, as well as recommending and executing improvement projects.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
* Overseeing the hotel's engineering and maintenance function
* Maintaining all hotel facilities and systems to a high standard
* Ensuring health & safety and fire regulation compliance at all times
* Managing maintenance budgets and ensuring cost-effective operations
* Coordinating external contractors and supervising in-house teams
* Supporting project planning and delivery for both large and small-scale improvements
What We're Looking For:
* Strong, hands-on experience in a similar hotel maintenance management role
* In-depth working knowledge of H&S, fire safety and compliance
* Experience managing maintenance teams and contractors in a hotel setting
* Excellent admin skills with accurate record keeping
* Commercial awareness with the ability to manage departmental budgets
* Flexible and reliable - able to work 40 hours across 5 out of 7 days with call-out availability
* Excellent communication skills and customer focus
* IT literate with solid numeracy and literacy skills
* Organised, proactive, and capable of working independently
