Overview
A leading boutique hotel in the heart of Central London, a short walk from Oxford Circus and currently ranked top within its competitive set, seeks an innovative and adaptable General Manager. As a 3-star property with limited amenities but a reputation for high-quality service, and with all guest rooms recently refurbished to the highest standards, our clients are seeking a results driven leader to maximise performance, maintain excellent standing, and drive the business forward in the dynamic London market.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all hotel departments, including front desk, accounts, maintenance, housekeeping and F&B, ensuring operational excellence and consistency with brand standards.
- Implement innovative service and operational strategies to optimise guest satisfaction and maintain our best-in-class reputation within the compset.
- Manage budgets, forecast revenues, control expenses, and deliver on business KPIs including occupancy, ADR and RevPAR.
- Analyse business performance data to inform strategic decision making and adapt to market trends, especially within the London hospitality sector.
- Build, coach and motivate a high-performing, collaborative team fostering professional development and a positive work culture.
- Ensure all staff provide a personable, attentive service; regularly monitor and improve guest experience using feedback and review channels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with online travel agencies (OTAs), travel partners and local business networks, leveraging these to maximise bookings, pricing and market reach.
- Lead sales and marketing initiatives to maintain and grow our profile in the London market.
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety and legal standards applicable to the hotel.
- Weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting to the board with updates on the hotel's operation and performance.
Key requirements
- Significant experience as a General Manager or Deputy General Manager in a boutique, 3-star or higher hotel environment, with proven leadership in dynamic, guest-focussed settings.
- Demonstrable record of delivering commercial results and meeting or exceeding KPIs.
- Deep understanding of the London hotel market and established professional relationships with OTAs and travel providers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with hotel PMS, channel management, and digital distribution tools.
- A passion for hospitality and a hands-on approach to leadership with a commitment to continuous improvement and adaptation to change.
