Head Chef - Exeter
JWR is recruiting for an experienced and commercially focused Head Chef to lead the kitchen within a high-quality operation in Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Head Chef to take ownership of a busy food operation, leading a talented brigade and delivering consistently high standards across restaurant dining, breakfast, private events and functions.
The successful candidate will combine strong culinary leadership with sound commercial awareness, creating a positive kitchen culture while maintaining excellent standards of food quality, presentation and guest satisfaction.The Package

The Role
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the kitchen, including:- Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen brigade
- Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
- Overseeing menu development and seasonal changes
- Managing food costs, labour, stock and wastage
- Recruiting, training and retaining a strong kitchen team
- Ensuring all food safety, hygiene and allergen standards are maintained
- Delivering smooth service across multiple food and beverage areas
- Working closely with the General Manager and wider hotel leadership team
- Supporting budgets, forecasts and wider commercial objectives
- Creating a professional, organised and positive working environment
Requirements
We are looking for an established Head Chef with experience in a quality, multi-outlet hospitality operation. You will have:- A strong fresh-food background
- Previous experience leading and developing a sizeable kitchen team
- Excellent knowledge of food costs, labour management and kitchen budgets
- Experience delivering multiple services and functions
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A calm, hands-on and supportive leadership style
- A proven track record of maintaining consistently high standards
- Sound knowledge of food safety, allergens and kitchen compliance
