This role demands far more than operational excellence. We are looking for an inspirational leader who lives and breathes hospitality, someone who understands that every guest interaction matters and who takes genuine ownership of the entire guest journey. Equally important is the ability to lead a successful commercial business, balancing exceptional service with strong financial performance.

Reporting to the owners, you will provide visible leadership across the hotel, inspiring your senior management team, developing future talent and ensuring every department consistently delivers the highest standards expected of a luxury country house hotel.

The Role

As General Manager you will:

• Lead the overall operation of this prestigious luxury hotel, ensuring every guest receives an exceptional and memorable experience.
• Inspire, coach and develop a passionate management team, creating a culture built around excellence, accountability and genuine hospitality.
• Take ownership of the complete guest journey, ensuring consistently high standards across all departments.
• Drive commercial performance through effective revenue management, cost control and financial planning.
• Develop strategies to increase profitability whilst maintaining the highest standards of luxury service.
• Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Revenue teams to maximise occupancy and market share.
• Champion employee engagement, succession planning and continuous development.
• Ensure the hotel continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the region's leading luxury destinations.

About You

This opportunity will suit an accomplished hospitality leader who combines warmth, presence and commercial awareness.

You'll ideally bring:

• Current experience as a General Manager or an established Hotel Manager ready to step into a flagship General Manager position.
• A proven background within luxury 4 or 5-star boutique country house hotels in the UK.
• Previous experience working within AA Red Star properties, with a thorough understanding of the standards and expectations associated with luxury hospitality.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop and retain high-performing teams.
• Outstanding commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue optimisation and cost control.
• A highly visible, hands-on leadership style with a genuine passion for delivering extraordinary guest experiences.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build relationships at every level.
• A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and maintaining the highest operational standards.
