JWR is recruiting for an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen operation at a contemporary 4-star family hotel in one of Cornwall's most popular coastal destinations.

The Role
As Head Chef, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, leading and developing a talented brigade while maintaining excellent standards across a busy operation.
You will:

• Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team
• Remain hands-on during busy services and lead from the front
• Deliver consistently high-quality food across breakfast, lunch and dinner
• Maintain excellent standards of presentation, consistency and speed of service
• Manage food ordering, stock levels, wastage and kitchen controls
• Control food costs and contribute towards achieving departmental financial targets
• Manage rotas and maintain appropriate staffing levels
• Recruit, train, coach and develop members of the brigade
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, health & safety and compliance standards
• Manage kitchen administration and ensure company procedures are followed
• Work closely with the wider hotel management team to continually improve the guest experience

Requirements
We are looking for an experienced chef who combines strong leadership with a genuine passion for being in the kitchen.
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Head Chef within a busy hotel, restaurant, resort or quality pub environment
• Experience managing a high-volume and seasonal food operation
• A proven ability to lead, engage and develop a kitchen brigade
• Strong operational and organisational skills
• Good commercial understanding, including food costs, stock control and labour management
• A passion for delivering quality food consistently
• Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
• The energy and flexibility required within a busy coastal hotel environment
• A positive, hands-on leadership style and the ability to remain calm under pressure
