A genuinely exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and hands-on General Manager to take responsibility for this boutique hotel.

With a bedroom stock of approximately 20 rooms, excellent food offering and a 60/40 split F&B to Rooms this is a unique opportunity for a hotel leader who enjoys being close to the operation, visible to guests and colleagues, and who wants to have a genuine influence on the future direction of the property.

The Opportunity

This is not a role for someone who wants to manage from behind a desk.

You will have genuine operational ownership, working closely with the owners to improve standards, develop the teams and maximise the commercial performance of the business.

A key part of the role will be supporting and driving the performance, ensuring that the guest experience, operational standards and commercial performance evolve alongside the physical product.

This could also be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hotel Manager who is ready to take their first step into a GM position or an established GM from the luxury boutique arena now looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full operational responsibility for the hotel
• Lead and develop the teams
• Work closely with ownership on any future repositioning and refurbishment strategies
• Drive improvements in guest experience, service standards and operational consistency
• Identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability
• Take ownership of budgets, forecasting, payroll and cost control
• Develop a strong commercial culture across the operation
• Recruit, coach and retain talented hospitality professionals
• Be highly visible and hands-on across both properties
• Manage refurbishment projects from an operational perspective, ensuring minimal disruption to guests and the wider business
• Build strong relationships with guests, suppliers and local partners
• Establish clear operational procedures and accountability across the teams

About You

We're looking for a confident hotel operator who enjoys making things happen.

You may already be a General Manager, or you could be an experienced Hotel Manager or Deputy GM ready to take that next step.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience within a boutique, independent or lifestyle hotel environment essential ideally within the boutique 4 star country house with rosettes
• A proven track record of repositioning, refurbishing or improving hotel operations
• Strong commercial and financial awareness
• Excellent people leadership skills
• A hands-on, visible management style
• The confidence to work closely with owners and senior stakeholders
• Experience managing change and raising operational standards
• A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience
• A practical, solutions-focused approach rather than a "that's how we've always done it" mentality
