Fancy a change for the mundane kitchen duties? Do you want to help deliver cookery classes to the public and to show off your culinary kitchen skills? if yes then please read on.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Sous Chef or Head Chef to join an upmarket International restaurant company in the City areas to run their cookery school for their paying guests. The cookery school offers locally sourced fresh food with regular menu changes and is there to help train and educate the refined clientele in different ways of cooking.
The client and is proud of their strong customer relationships and friendly atmosphere. They are looking for an experienced Sous Chef or Head Chef who can deliver the highest levels of quality food their refined customers. They are looking for like-minded individuals who have worked in a similar kitchen training others and has a passion for teaching people on creative food menu's.
REQUIREMENT
- Passion for cooking with fresh ingredients
- A leader not a boss
- Must be confident talking and cooking in front of teams of up to 12 people
- Must have volume experience
- A creative flair
- Be involved in cookery events and demonstrations
- Previous experience in running cookery classes would be an advantage
- Confident in answering questions and demonstrating different cooking techniques
- Knowledge of Italian food is desirable but not essential
- Must be able to deal with daily/weekly and seasonal menu changes and planning ahead
- Experienced working in commercial kitchens and equipment
- Highly organised and be able to work towards time-frames with the public
- Must be flexible in working weekends and bank holidays
- Be able to come up with new food creations with the Executive Chef
- Experience with GP, costing, wastage management, ordering, stock etc..
- Strong health & safety knowledge
- A stable work history
