JWR is recruiting confidentially for an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead an established coastal hotel operation in Devon.
We are looking for a strong, hands-on operator who can provide visible leadership, develop the existing management team and improve operational standards, commercial performance and guest satisfaction.

Package
Up to £43,600 DOE
£6k OTE annual bonus + company benefits
Live-in accommodation available if required.

The Role
As General Manager, you will;

• Take overall responsibility for the hotel's day-to-day operation
• Lead across accommodation, food and beverage and guest experience
• Coach and develop Heads of Department and Deputy Managers
• Drive revenue, profitability and effective cost management
• Manage labour, margins, stock and expenditure
• Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness and presentation
• Be highly visible throughout the operation
• Take ownership of guest feedback and service recovery
• Oversee recruitment, training and succession planning
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety and food safety
• Deliver against agreed operational and financial KPIs

Requirements
We are looking for:

• Previous General Manager experience within a full-service hotel
• Strong rooms and food and beverage experience
• Good commercial and financial understanding
• Proven experience leading and developing managers
• Strong labour and cost-control experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A calm, solutions-focused approach
• A highly visible and hands-on leadership style

The role is full-time, working approximately 48 hours per week including weekends.
