Luxury Family Hotel - Cornwall

JWR are excited to be working with a leading, independent and forward-thinking collection of Luxury Hotels across the South West, looking to recruit an experienced Hotel Operations Manager for their property in a stunning Cornish location.

The Hotel is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment and investment to re-position itself as one of the leading 4* Luxury family hotels in the area. Work is due to be completed early next year, and the position is available from February 2021.

The seven-figure investment will see improvements across all areas of the property including bedrooms, public areas, kitchen, bar & restaurant and additional facilities.

As Hotel Operations Manager, reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a key part in the recruitment, training and developing of a brand-new team, ensuring they are ready to re-launch the business in early Spring 2021.

You will already be an experienced Hotel Operations Manager, with previous experience within a 4/5 Star family focused property, looking for their next challenge. As Hotel operations Manager, you will operate and manage the overall day to day activities within the hotel with key focus across the FOH and F&B operation, maintaining the highest levels of Guest Service at all times, ensuring a smooth Guest Journey is delivered during all points of their guests visit from arrival to departure.

You will identify and maximise all sales opportunities and develop your team to do the same.

This is a key position within the business, so the successful candidate has to be extremely hard working, dedicated and committed to go the extra mile for their guests, a real people's person, but very much hands-on as this is not an office role.

Required Skills:

  • Experience within a 4/5* family focussed environment of at least 2 years.
  • Previous project management/new openings experience preferred, but not essential.
  • Recruit, train and develop a motivated, attentive and service driven team. You will be a Strong leader and developer of people and will play a key part in the interview and selection of your team members.
  • Solid understanding of F&B, current trends and developing and driving the offer to reflect the business and its clientele.
  • Continually monitor the quality of standards to ensure the hotel re-positions itself successfully in the market
  • Oversee all departments within the hotel on a daily basis, assisting department heads in maintaining a smooth operation.
  • Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety & Hygiene across all departments
  • Monitor and maintain existing F&B control systems ensuring correct sales targets and profit levels are achieved and maintained.
  • Maintain excellent guest relations at all times, seeking feedback to ensure their requirements are always met and their experience within the hotel is to the highest standard.
  • Liaise and work closely with senior operations, marketing and revenue departments to continually strive to achieve revenue and GOP targets, maximising all sales opportunities, whilst controlling key operational costs, updating your team regularly on how their departments are performing.
  • Ensure the security of cash, stock and company property are managed
  • Carry out regular audits within all departments ensuring standards are being met, and action plans completed to address any concerns.
