JWR is currently working with a lovely, independently owned Hotel & Restaurant in a great location set in Dartmoor, looking to recruit an Assistant Hotel General Manager to support the GM and owner in running the day-to-day operation.

The Hotel boasts 25 good quality rooms with a 45-cover restaurant and function room regularly holding local community events, catering for around 50 people. Whilst the property attracts visitors from outside of the area during the peak season, its very much the hub of the community with locals frequenting the bar/restaurant.

As Assistant Hotel General Manager, you will currently already be working within a hotel/pub environment and have good all-round experience gained from food & drink led businesses, with letting rooms experience too

The properties offer freshly cooked, locally sourced food, with great drinks offer, showcasing the best local produce where possible.

As Assistant Hotel General Manager, you will be have excellent customer service skills, and deputise for the GM in their absence. You will lead the team with a hands on approach, as this is not an office job

Required Skills:

• Previous experience within a similar role
• Good knowledge of F&B, reception, and housekeeping
• Experience with rooms/accommodation of at least 20 beds
• Good understanding of P&L and driving sales
• Strong leadership & people development skills
• High level of standards & service
• Strong community engagement skills
• Personal Licence holder / Cellar Management an advantage

The Package / Benefits / Opportunities:

• Up to £28k+ tips depending on experience
